Our Team

Our team of doctors and nurses are experienced the full range of presentations to general practice. We are able to manage all issues from acute and chronic medical care, pregnancy and women's health, sexual health, psychological issues such as anxiety and depression, as well as lifestyle issues such as family planning, relationship breakdown, and communication difficulties.

MB BS FRACGP Dip Child Health

Dr Moya Wood has over 30 years of experience in all aspects of General Practice, she has a special interest in Skin Cancer Surgery, Paediatrics and General Medicine. She has completed a post-graduate Paediatric Degree at PMH.

During the Covid 19 outbreak Dr Moya Wood will be consulting from home for phone consults only. She is available every day 7 days a week. For further information or to make a booking please phone 9247 2533 and ask for a telehealth consult.


Dr Penny Wood is a locally trained GP and has been working at Alexander Heights since 2014. She lives in Perth with her wife and three young children. She has experience in emergency care and rural general practice.

She is experienced with all aspects of general practice and has interests in LGBT issues, Paediatrics, Obesity, HIV Medicine, and Sexual Health. She also has a strong interest in mental health issues including family dysfunction, depression, and anxiety.

Penny is available for consultation Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and works some Saturdays.

MB BS Dip Women's Health

Born and raised in Macedonia. Dr Velkovski graduated registered nursing and started medical school in Macedonia, she then met her husband who is from Perth, married and completed her studies at UWA. She has worked at SCGH, JHC and completed a Diploma of Women's Health at KEMH.

Dr Velkovski speaks English, Macedonian and Former Yugoslavian Languages.

Dr Velkovski’s Interests include: Antenatal Care, Women’s Health, Preventative Medicine, Health Checks, and Children’s Health.

Cveta is available for consultation Monday to Friday and some Saturdays.


Dr Michelle Tan is a locally trained GP registrar. She studied at UWA and worked at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Joondalup Health Campus before arriving at Alexander Heights. She has special interests in women's health and paediatrics, and is currently completing postgraduate qualifications in sexual and reproductive health and paediatrics. 


Dr Dasha Simmonds has joined our team in 2019. Originally from Melbourne, she now calls Perth home with her two young children and husband. She has a keen interest in women’s health and pregnancy shared care, having completed her diploma in 2015 at King Edward Memorial Hospital. Dr Dasha takes an holistic approach to health and wellbeing, focusing on preventative health. She has a background as an Occupational Therapist working primarily in aged care. She also has an interest in mental health and has studied psychology and neuroscience through a science degree. Dr Dasha is available for consultation on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and some Saturdays.

MBBS BSc(OT)(Hons)

Dr Ros Forward is the newest member of our team and has interests in occupational health having previously worked in the mines and with the emergency services. She is a locally trained graduate and has recently completed a Certificate in sexual and reproductive health. She is happy to work with sexually and gender diverse people.

Ros is currently on maternity leave.
